After a 9-day road trip, poor eating and recovery, I find myself with an empty house for a week. My mother is taking a week-long birthday cruise with a friend, and this seems like the perfect time to try out the Lion Diet. My mother doesn’t like food repetitiveness, but when it comes to steak, I don’t even care! Give me the beef!

Weight: 284 pounds

  • Starting weight 293.2 (beginning of Carnivore)

Meal 1 – Steak Bites w/ 1 tsp of ghee and salt

Unfortunately I’ve been mixing excess beef fat and bacon fat in my glass containers, so my only options for cooking “oil” were butter or ghee.

Snack – beef stick (not pure beef, but no sugar with minimal ingredients) + 1 glass of black tea (to fight caffeine withdrawal and oxalate dumping)

Meal 2 – Hamburgers 1.3 pounds (4 patties) with salt and garlic powder

I was able to save about 2 ounces of beef fat for future cooking. Problem solved! As far as spices go, I am limiting my seasonings this week to salt, garlic powder, onion powder and perhaps some infused/smoked sea salts. I’ll include them in my meal notes.

Snack 2 – beef stick

Cravings: Last night I did have a cheat dessert before starting. However, I’m going to avoid all sweeteners, even fake ones, this week. I won’t be having sugar-free electrolytes either.

Energy: Pretty good today, but I did take a nap because why not?

Today is a day that the Lord has made. Thank You, Lord, for modeling and advising the importance of a Sabbath day.
