To be honest, my plan was not to blog daily during my 90-day Carnivore journey. But then I realized, if I’m feeling better every day, I should share that! That is my hope, to feel better and better every day, physically, mentally, emotionally, even spiritually. Gluten really does make me feel like garbage. Technically I have tested out being sugar-free for 75 days in 2023, but I can’t recall how I felt. Because I didn’t write it down!
Yesterday during the fast, I felt fine. My most intense hunger pains were from 3-5pm, so I drank water. I’ve water-fasted for 7 days before, with only bone broth and some herbal tea twice during the fast. So 36-hour fasting is not that big a deal. It takes time to work up to longer fasts. I remember my first 36-hour fast being torturtous because meal times were so engrained in me.
Waking up this morning, I decided to do some tasks before I ate. I didn’t wake up hungry. But bacon then was calling my name.
Meal 1 – Made two meals (1 to save) using a pound of bacon and 9 eggs. So I ate about 4.5 eggs and 1/2 pound of bacon to break the fast. Feeling good.
No coffee. I’ve been a tea-drinker almost daily for the last few years, because I’m “a southerner”, or at least that was my excuse. To ease oxalate dumping, plain black tea is a suggested remedy. I’m not sure what my oxalate dumping will look like, but symptoms can happen even 3 years after being Carnivore. I’m not certain how long I’ll be on this journey, but if Carnivore works, I’m sticking with it.
Meal 2 – Just under 1 pound of 73/27 ground beef with 1 slice of cheddar cheese. I did use some Cajun seasoning, with pepper and salt. My pups received a little ground beef treat also. I’m eating my 2nd meal around 6 hours after my 1st meal because carnivore meals are so satisfying.
Update: Caffeine withdrawal has definitely hit me with a headache, which is so rare for me. I’ve already brewed a black tea, and I’ll enjoy it chilled a little later.
I’m glad to have you following along with me! I’m starting this adventure with prayers, and I pray this blog is helpful on your journey as well. God hears you when you call out to Him, so call Him up!
