Week in review: During this transition into the Carnivore way of eating, I’m already seeing interesting improvements. I no longer labor over my grocery list, attempting to vary up my meals each day. This way of eating is so much simpler, and I’m not looking at the weekly specials thinking “Oooohhh, what can I treat myself to??” The cravings and food noise are significantly less since adopting this way of eating, even with just 1 of my meals Carnivore a day.
Since my grocery list is very short, my time at the grocery store is quick and easy. Most of my walk is on the perimeter, except for household items like cleaning products. It’s an added bonus for adopting Carnivore.
The weekly specials at the grocery store:
- Uncured, no sugar bacon $5.59 at Aldi (a savings from regular grocery stores)
- $6.49/lb ground lamb
- $5.99/lb grass fed ground beef (also a savings from regular grocery stores)
Sunday – Top sirloin steak cooked in butter
Monday – BBBE (Ground Beef+Butter+Bacon+Eggs) bowl……frozen from last week; did great reheating in the oven
Tuesday – Pulled pork with 2 oz. cheese and pork rinds
Weds – Skirt steak cooked in butter
Thurs – Homemade ground beef and lamb burgers, with 2 servings gorgonzola and feta cheese crumbles
Friday – Chicken bites with bacon, cooked in butter
Saturday – Steak cooked in butter, eggs cooked in bacon grease (eggs batch cooked earlier this week)
Coming up: This next week encompasses my favorite holiday, Christ in Christmas, and my birthday. Since I am just beginning Carnivore, I will be very interested to note how those two events affect my cravings. I would like to enjoy a carnivore meal on my birthday, but I haven’t yet decided if I’ll eat carnivore during our Christmas family potluck. Just a reminder, I’m only eating 1 carnivore meal a day during this transition time. Either way, I’ll report back!
May your heart be merry and bright as you finish your holiday preparations! God bless you.
