There’s variations that I’ve missed, but suffice to say, there’s a plethora of options for food or diet plans to follow. But why have I chosen the Carnivore style of eating for this time in my life?

  1. Testimonies – Carnivores report improvements from reduced snoring to dramatic reduction in tumors or the elimination of major health concerns. Is any of this a guarantee? No, but I’m willing to catalogue my list of health issues, and then journal if I see any improvements.
  2. Diet simplicity – Carnivore is essentially an elimination diet. High inflammatory foods like gluten are removed, so health improvements can be a result.
  3. Removal of highly processed foods like refined sugars, factory-made substitutes, junk food and excessive filler ingredients (like soy protein).
  4. Satiety = I may finally feel satisfied from and between meals, without feeling hunger two hours later as I have with carbs. Carnivores have reported the reduction of “food noise” or cravings for junk food while eating this way. This would be a massive win for me!

Some cons to consider based on all my research:

  1. This is a lifestyle choice. Adding in junk food like carbs or sugar will bring back all the old cravings and old health issues with them. If I find success on this food plan, Carnivore will need to be my only way of eating. “Cheating” causes immediate bodily reactions like stomach issues and joint pain, based on others’ results. While there are certain veggies or fruit that I enjoy, I’m not planning to reintroduce them anytime soon.
  2. Must plan for trips – On the road, I’ll need to pack my go-to snacks, seek the carnivore snacks in gas stations, and know my best restaurant meal options. Luckily, other Carnivores have made videos about this topic, noting that hard-boiled eggs, cheese, sugar-free jerky and hamburger patties are available most places. See this video from Laura Spath about Carnivore on the road:

What happens if I try Carnivore and can’t stand it? I’ll be going to the Whole 30 style of eating. Same elimination of trigger foods like simple carbs and sugar. My main goal is to remove highly processed foods, processed oils and long-ingredient-list junk foods from my diet.

I really appreciate you following along on my journey, and pray that your health journey is a success also! May God bless you and keep you.
